Selkirk is one of the most popular brands in pickleball. And the Selkirk Vanguard pickleball paddles is one of the most popular pickleball paddles for players of all skill levels.
At the end of 2021, Selkirk released a Selkirk Vanguard 2.0 pickleball paddle. So what’s new?
Basically, one major upgrade happened. Spin. The Selkirk Vanguard 2.0 pickleball paddle is essentially the same as the original. Except the surface coating is grittier to give players more spin control on the ball. It also helps with surface wear, so the 2.0 paddles should last you even longer than their earlier versions.
While this upgrade delights us, it does not surprise us. Since spin became such a (at times heated) discussion in the pickleball community last year, we suspect many brands will be releasing paddles that focus on ball control and optimal spin for players to keep exploring and innovating in this area of play.
