New Pickleball Brand Aims to Bring Out Your Inner Child
“Grab a friend. Grab a drink. Grab a paddle. Let's Play!” That’s the message you’ll see at the top of Recess Pickleball’s website.
Hey, can’t argue with those instructions!
Recess Pickleball has caught our attention lately. Full disclosure, we haven’t actually tried out one of their paddles, so we won’t speak to performance. But we also don’t think that’s the point here.
Let’s take their name, for example. Recess. You remember recess in grade school? The best part of the school day? That is what pickleball feels like. Like recess for adults!
The designs you’ll see from Recess Pickleball are (dare we date ourselves) 70s-inspired? They look like they belong in the sun, in a decade that screams “go outside and have fun with your friends.” And that’s a mission we can “get hip” to.
They’re based in Austin, TX, and that makes total sense to us. The combo of down-to-earth-good-folks and yet somehow also extremely hip is an unmistakable trademark of Austin.
