How Do World Pickleball Rankings Work?
First, let’s be clear. We’re talking Rankings. Not Ratings. Ratings are the 1.0-5.5+ system used to structure tournament play so that it’s competitive at all levels, from beginner to pro. World Rankings, however, just commenced in early 2021, and they evaluate the pros and senior pros in women’s, men’s, and mixed play. It’s a pretty cool system set up by pickleballtournaments.com. Since they are tracking all the major tournaments in real time, their rankings also adjust in real time. And they’ve set up an easy point system for their rankings.
The World Pickleball Rankings, powered by Pickleball Tournaments, is the “gold standard” for ranking Pro and Senior Pro pickleball players. Players earn points in participating tournaments for placement and wins. Results are updated at the conclusion of each tournament. The World Pickleball Rankings commenced in early 2021 and the cumulative rankings process has started. As more tournaments are played over the course of the year, the rankings become more meaningful.
