Most Common Injuries for Seniors

My Physical Therapist insisted that I take her out to the pickleball court so she could understand why she was treating so many pickleball injuries.  This is the first generation of people 50+ playing a sport that demands fast turns, fast reflexes, running backward, the continual strain on wrists, etc.  Doctors and therapists love the positive benefits but would like to see it played in moderation with less time played per day.

THESE ARE THE MOST COMMON INJURIES (IN ORDER OF OCCURRENCE):

  •  Broken Bones from Falling on the Court
  •  Plantar Fasciitis
  •  Tennis Elbow
  •  Cramping
  •  Achilles Tendonitis
  •  Muscle Pulls
  •  Eye Injuries

As the doctors recommend, wear protective eyewear, wear the correct shoes, and play more for fun than serious competition.  Learn how to say "Good Lob" and not go for it.

Live long and Play Pickleball for the rest of your life.
