Creating a Pickleball Program in Your Community

We are so lucky to live in Orange County, CA where Phil Dunmeyer, created the Tustin pickleball program.  It started with a few courts but is now a well-run facility with 12 courts.

Inspired by Phil, I helped start the Newport Beach pickleball program with four outdoor courts.  As if that wasn't challenging enough, my next assignment was to build a pickleball court in a parking lot with only one court.

Running programs with limited courts and high demand require a set schedule with well-defined drop-in times, teaching times, and scheduled time by skill levels. It also helps to have volunteer court monitors to help arrange games for everyone and monitor the sign-up sheet or paddle racks.

Check out this excellent resource and keep the sport growing !
