What to Watch on Selkirk TV Right Now: August 2021
Selkirk was the first pickleball brand to launch a TV channel via streaming. You can download it on your smart phone or smart device. And you can also download the app to your smart TV. All for free. You don’t even have to set up an account to start watching. So needless to say, we’ve been doing some pickleball binging. If you’re new to the channel, we’d recommend starting out with these shows and exploring from there. Happy watching!
#1: The Pickleball Today Show
The Pickleball Today Show with Mark Renneson is exactly what it sounds like. A fun, news-style show that incorporates pickleball match highlights, tips, tricks, pickleball game evaluations, and of course some lighthearted humor. Mark Renneson of ThirdShotSports does a great job hosting the show, giving viewers an energetic burst of pickleball action, while also teaching viewers new pickleball strategies. As of this article’s publish date, there are six episodes of The Pickleball Today Show, and if you’re like us, you’ll watch them all in one sitting.
#2: Playing at the Kitchen Line with Morgan Evans of CoachME
There are plenty of “tips and tricks” type of shows on Selkirk TV. But one of our early favorites is Playing at the Kitchen Line with Morgan Evans of CoachME. The title’s a mouthful, but the content is great! Since most of the game does indeed take place at the kitchen line, this series of videos, covering everything from shot selection to defensive measures, will be valuable to pickleball players of any level. Especially those at an intermediate level looking to take it up a notch.
#3: Pickleball Tips with Tyson McGuffin
Get used to seeing Tyson McGuffin, because he’s all over Selkirk TV. As one of Selkirk’s main sponsored pros, we’re not surprised. He has several series on Selkirk TV, but Pickleball Tips with Tyson McGuffin is the most widely appealing series, covering basic shots like the third shot drop and also getting into nuanced shots like how to hit a pickleball on the short hop. Overall, there are some really great pointers in here for intermediate players.
#4: Selkirk TV Match Recaps
Under the “Matches” category on Selkirk TV, you’ll first see Match Recaps. We love these recaps because it’s impossible for us to watch every single play from every single tournament. So going through and watching the Selkirk TV Match Recaps is the perfect way to tune in at a high level. Then, if a recap video really interests us, we can go watch the full match. But if you’re just tuning into Selkirk TV and want to watch live play, we recommend scrubbing through the Match Recaps section.
